Hating

As much as I try to be "politcally correct", I figured I would take a more critical view on things today. About a month ago, I read an entry which took a pretty big stab at the average-blogger. And you know what? It fucking pissed me off. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who has the guts to plaster their entire life on a blog should get serious street credit.

The stab sounded something like this: "blog land is filled with this-is-what-I-would-buy-if-I-had-the-money-but-I-don't-so-here's-yet-another-picture-of-me-wearing-H&M-and-I-basically-have-nothing-else-to-say blogs." (keep in mind, this is a translation), but I'm sure you get the picture.

This statement really bothered me, because well.. a select few of us actually have the financial capacity enabling us to purchase Alexander Wang bags, Acne shoes and so on. And aren't we entitled to the right to voice our desire for these items (although, this creates a bit of dilemma considering it gives her the right to voice her own opinion too) ? And yeah, I fucking love H&M. I'm not ashamed, and why should I be? You know, it wouldn't take a lot of creativity to put together a fucking stellar outfit if my bank account resembled Bill Gates'. On the other hand, it takes far more effort to look fabulous if you're on a strict budget.

As far as my own blog goes, I try to make it about fashion, as opposed to my politcal opinion, my faulty life or the trials I come across on a daily basis. I mean, she points out that we have nothing else to say, but then again, why the fuck would I start a fashion blog if I wanted to talk about "important" things like world politics or the continuing Aids problem in Africa? IDIOT. (ps.- if you want to get a more personal view of who I actually am and read more "important" entries, then check out my other blog, which I've had for 4 years here: http://xmoonstonex.livejournal.com/)
To sum up: I encourage all of you readers (all 20 of you, hehe) to continue writing exactly what you feel like! Ok, I'm done ranting now.
Samsøe Samsøe sweater, Won Hundred pants (which I'm thinking I should have bought in a smaller size, damn it!) and my new and lovely Bianco wedges.

  1. That's a dilemma because as much as she's allowed to voice her opinion, I know how much that can bug someone haha. Especially when she makes it sound like you're an idiot or something - which you're totally not. And as you said, the point of a fashion blog IS to blog about that stuff, not the drama in your life. thats what LJ is for, and i like it like that cuz then I get to check 2 blogs! hahahah

your pants look like they fit you fine...did they stretch after the first time wearing them? I HATE that.
